FundedSeat, a futures prop firm, announced on Monday, September 28, 2026 that it is closing, according to Finance Magnates and JoinProp, which quoted the firm’s closure notice. The FundedSeat closure affects traders with active evaluations, funded accounts and pending withdrawals. The firm said active accounts will be refunded and that pending withdrawals and positive live balances will be paid out.

What FundedSeat said

In a letter to its community signed by its COO, the firm blamed “limitations from big trading platforms” that kept it from the growth it needed, Finance Magnates reported on September 29. According to the same report, FundedSeat did not support NinjaTrader or Tradovate and could not offer MetaTrader because of its developer’s licensing rules for prop firms.

The firm also said that support stays open through live chat and email during the wind-down, JoinProp reported on September 30. Both outlets say the notice gave no date for the refunds.

What traders can do now

Save account statements, withdrawal requests and the closure notice while the dashboard is still open. Ask support in writing when the refund and payout will be made, and keep the reply. FundedSeat’s own terms describe its accounts as simulated and its fees as non-refundable once access is granted, so the refund promise rests on the closure notice.

Why platform access matters

US futures prop firms depend on a few platform and data vendors. MetaQuotes stopped licensing MetaTrader to prop firms serving US traders in 2024, and new cTrader purchases for US traders closed on March 31, 2026. The platforms the large US futures firms support are listed on our platforms page and in futures prop firms by platform.

A prop firm evaluation is a paid service with simulated trading. Firms change their rules and close, and most people who buy an evaluation do not pass it. Not investment advice.
