Sponsored content and affiliate policy

What we would label as paid, and what is never for sale.

helloweekends carries no advertising, no sponsored content and no affiliate links today. If we add paid content later, it will be clearly labelled, kept apart from our own reporting and marked for search engines. Some things will never be for sale: a firm's rule and payout data, its status, the rule change log, and the criteria and order of our lists.

What is never for sale

  • Any rule, price, payout term or other fact about a firm.
  • A firm's status, such as active, paused or closed.
  • Entries in the rule change log, and corrections.
  • The criteria of a list and the order in which firms appear in it.
  • The removal or softening of accurate information.

If we publish paid content

  • Labels. Paid content carries a visible label: "Sponsored" for articles paid for by a company, "Press release" for text supplied by a company, and "Featured" for a paid slot next to a list.
  • Separate places. Sponsored articles sit in their own section and press releases in the news section. They never appear inside our rule explainers or in the facts on a firm's profile.
  • Featured slots. A "Featured" slot is shown apart from the ranked list. It does not change a firm's position, its data or the criteria.
  • Enhanced profiles. If a firm pays for an enhanced profile, only the presentation changes, for example a logo or a description the firm supplies. Those parts are labelled as supplied by the firm, and the firm's rules, data and status stay exactly as we collect them.
  • Links. Every link in paid content that leaves helloweekends carries rel="sponsored", so search engines know it is paid.
  • Topic. Paid content must be about futures trading, prop firms or trading tools, and we can decline any piece.
  • Share. Paid content will never be more than one in ten of the pages we publish.

Affiliate links

We do not use affiliate links. If we ever do, each page that contains one will say so at the top, before the first link, and the links will be marked rel="sponsored". A commission will never change a firm's data, its place in a list or what we say about its rules.

Why we disclose

Readers should know when a company paid for what they are reading. That is also what the US Federal Trade Commission expects under its Endorsement Guides, and what Google asks for when a link is paid.

Questions

Does helloweekends earn money when I buy an evaluation?

No. We have no affiliate links or referral deals with any firm today. If that changes, the page will say so at the top.

Can a prop firm pay to be featured?

Not today. If we ever sell a Featured slot, it will be labelled and shown apart from the ranked list, and it will not change any firm's position or data.

How will I recognize paid content?

By its label: Sponsored, Press release or Featured, or "supplied by the firm" on a profile. The facts on a firm's profile are never paid for.
