Alpha Futures has stopped charging the $149 activation fee on its Advanced accounts. The firm’s help center says accounts purchased after its July 8, 2026 announcement no longer require an activation fee, so a trader who passes moves to a Qualified account without that one-time payment. Advanced accounts bought before the announcement stay on their original terms, including the fee.

What changed

The activation fee was a one-time charge per Advanced Qualified Account, due after an evaluation was passed. Alpha Futures now writes that “Accounts Purchased after July 8, 2026 announcement no longer require activation fees” (Alpha Futures Help Center). The firm’s Advanced product page also lists no activation fee (Alpha Futures).

Was Now
Advanced activation fee $149, one time, per Qualified account None for accounts purchased after the July 8, 2026 announcement
Deadline after passing Pay the fee and sign the contract within 30 days Sign the contract within 30 days

Who it affects

Traders who buy an Advanced evaluation from the announcement date onward. An evaluation is a paid service traded in simulated accounts, and the fee removal lowers what it costs to reach the Qualified stage rather than changing the evaluation price itself. Traders holding an older Advanced account still follow the earlier terms: the help center’s activation steps keep the fee for accounts purchased before the cutoff (Alpha Futures Help Center).

What stays the same

Activation itself is unchanged. The firm says a passing trader completes KYC identity checks and signs the contract within 30 days, and that the Qualified account is delivered in 24 hours or less once those steps are done (Alpha Futures Help Center). The product page says the account moves to Qualified at the same monthly price (Alpha Futures).

What traders should check

Check the purchase date of the account, not the date it was passed, because the help center ties the change to when the account was purchased. If an Advanced account was bought before July 8, 2026 and has not been activated yet, confirm with the firm whether the fee is still owed. Either way, the 30-day signing window still runs from passing, and an unsigned contract can end the account. This is a record of a rule change, not investment advice.
