CME Group said on June 11 that it plans to launch financially settled options on the Micro E-mini S&P 500 and Micro E-mini Nasdaq-100 on June 29, pending regulatory review (CME Group, June 11, 2026). The contracts settle in cash and carry short-dated Monday through Friday expiries. For traders on evaluation or funded accounts, availability depends on the firm, not on the exchange listing.

What CME announced

The new options are financially settled, which CME says removes the operational processes tied to delivery of the underlying futures at expiration. They are listed on and subject to the rules of CME, and the launch date given in the announcement is June 29, subject to regulatory review (CME Group, June 11, 2026).

How the contracts are sized

Each contract is one-tenth the size of its E-mini counterpart, and the expiry cycle runs Monday through Friday (CME Group, June 11, 2026). CME’s Micro E-mini equity product page describes the same Monday to Friday expiries, no physical delivery risk, and access 23 hours a day (CME Group).

What it means for evaluation and funded accounts

The announcement covers an exchange listing. It says nothing about prop firm access, and a listing at CME does not put a symbol into an evaluation account. An evaluation is a paid service traded in a simulated environment, and the product list is set by the firm and the platform it uses. Options are a separate product from the futures most futures prop firms build their programs around, so their status has to be confirmed with the firm rather than assumed from the exchange.

What traders should check

Ask the firm whether options are supported on the account type you hold, and on which platform. Check how the firm counts an options position against a drawdown or daily loss limit, since those rules are written per firm. Check the margin and contract sizing the firm applies, given that a Micro E-mini contract is one-tenth of its E-mini counterpart (CME Group, June 11, 2026). None of this is investment advice.
