Lucid Trading rules depend on the plan you buy. LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDaily are evaluations, and LucidDirect is instant funding with no evaluation. Every plan has a maximum loss limit that trails your balance, a cap on contracts and a rule that you must be flat by 4:45 p.m. ET. The daily loss limit and the consistency rule change from plan to plan, and on some plans you choose them when you buy.

Rules on every Lucid plan

  • Flat by 4:45 p.m. ET. Lucid closes open positions at 4:45 p.m. ET. You cannot hold positions overnight or over the weekend on simulated accounts.
  • Maximum loss limit (MLL). The MLL is the lowest your account balance may go. Touching it is a hard breach: the account fails. On every plan the MLL trails your balance and then locks once your balance passes a set level.
  • Daily loss limit (DLL), where it applies. Hitting the DLL is a soft breach: trading stops for the rest of the session and the account stays open.
  • No hedging. Holding opposite positions, including across your own accounts or in closely related contracts, is prohibited.
  • No microscalping or high-frequency trading. Lucid prohibits making more than half of your profit from trades held five seconds or less.
  • Bots and trade copiers are allowed.
  • Account limits. Up to 10 evaluations and 5 funded accounts per household, 10 at most combined. Accounts left untraded for 30 days can be closed.

Plans and targets

All Lucid plans are a one-time purchase with no activation fee. Lucid's homepage lists LucidPro prices; we could not read prices for the other plans on an official page, so those cells say "Not confirmed".

LucidPro

You can pass in one day: there is no minimum beyond one trading day and no consistency rule in the evaluation. When you buy, you choose whether the account has a daily loss limit; the version with a DLL costs less, and you cannot change the choice later. Once funded, a 40% consistency rule applies to payouts, and above the trail the fixed DLL is replaced by a limit equal to 60% of your highest end-of-day profit. One Lucid article lists no DLL for the 25K size while others show an optional $600 limit.

LucidFlex

The evaluation needs at least two trading days and a 50% consistency rule: no single day may make up more than half of your profit. Once funded there is no consistency rule, and a contract scaling plan sets how many contracts you may trade as your balance grows.

LucidDaily

LucidDaily launched in July 2026. At checkout you choose the DLL (on or off) and an end-of-day or intraday drawdown for the evaluation. The funded account always uses an intraday trailing drawdown. On a funded LucidDaily account, holding a position from one minute before to one minute after high-impact US dollar news is a hard breach.

LucidDirect

LucidDirect skips the evaluation: you trade a funded account from the start. It has no resets. Each payout needs a profit goal and a 20% consistency rule, so no single day may exceed a fifth of the profit in that payout cycle.

Worked example: the trailing MLL on a 50K LucidPro

You start at $50,000 with a $2,000 MLL, so the account fails if your balance touches $48,000. The MLL trails your end-of-day balance: if you finish a day at $51,000, the floor moves up to $49,000. It keeps trailing until your balance passes $52,100. From then on the floor stays at $50,100, the starting balance plus $100, however high the balance goes.

What breaks a Lucid account

  • Touching the MLL at any time (hard breach).
  • On funded LucidDaily accounts, holding a position through high-impact USD news (hard breach).
  • Hedging, microscalping or high-frequency trading.
  • Hitting the DLL pauses trading until the next session; it does not fail the account.

Recent rule changes

  • November 28, 2025: LucidPro moved from 100% of the first $10,000 to a 90/10 split from the first payout, for accounts bought or reset from that date.
  • February 28, 2026: LucidFlex accounts now move live after up to 5 payouts, with a one-time live bonus, replacing the 6-payout path with escrow.

All changes are in the rule change log. Payout rules are on the Lucid Trading payouts page.

Know the riskA Lucid evaluation is a paid service with simulated trading. Most people who buy an evaluation do not pass it, and firms change their rules. Read Lucid's current rules before you buy. Not investment advice.

Questions

Does Lucid Trading have a daily loss limit?

On LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDaily it is optional and chosen when you buy. LucidDirect has a soft daily limit. Hitting a DLL pauses trading for the day; it does not fail the account.

Can you hold trades overnight with Lucid?

No. All simulated accounts must be flat by 4:45 p.m. ET, and Lucid closes open positions at that time.

How fast can you pass a Lucid evaluation?

LucidPro can be passed in one trading day. LucidFlex and LucidDaily need at least two trading days. LucidDirect has no evaluation.

Can you trade the news with Lucid?

Yes on most plans. On a funded LucidDaily account you must be flat from one minute before to one minute after high-impact USD news.
