Apex Trader Funding payout rules for Performance Accounts (PAs) bought since March 1, 2026 set three limits. You can request a payout after every five qualifying trading days, you keep 100% of each approved payout, and you can take six at most before the PA closes. Each request needs $500 or more, a balance above the safety net and a 50% consistency check. Apex pays from its own funds under its terms and can change or pause payouts.

The 50% consistency rule

Before each PA payout, your largest trading day must be under 50% of the profit made since your last payout. If you made $2,000 since the last request, your best day must be under $1,000. The rule applies to PA payouts only; the evaluation has none. For how such rules work across firms, see prop firm consistency rule.

Your first Apex payout, step by step

  1. Pass an evaluation. On a Standard evaluation, pay the one-time PA activation fee within 7 calendar days, $69 on the 25K Intraday plan. No Activation Fee versions have none.
  2. Trade five qualifying days in the PA. Each one needs a minimum profit of $100 to $350, depending on size and drawdown type.
  3. Check consistency: your largest day must be under 50% of your profit.
  4. Keep your balance at or above the safety net plus $500, for example $52,600 on a 50K PA.
  5. Request at least $500 and no more than the cap for that payout number.
  6. Wait for review. Apex reviews within 2 business days and sends approved funds within 3 to 4 business days; 5 to 11 business days in total is typical. US residents are paid by ACH direct deposit to a US bank account, and traders outside the US through Plane.

Worked example: six payouts on a 50K PA

On a 50K EOD PA the six caps add up to $13,000: $1,500, $1,500, $2,000, $2,500, $2,500 and $3,000. The 50K Intraday PA allows $14,500 across its six: $1,500, $2,000, $2,500, $2,500, $3,000 and $3,000, and its qualifying day needs $200 of profit instead of $250. Both need a balance of at least $52,600 at each request, $500 above the $52,100 safety net. After the sixth payout, the PA closes.

Apex Live

Apex Live is an invitation-only program with a 90/10 split on live trading profits. You can request payouts daily, with a $500 minimum and no cap on profit above a $3,100 safety net. Its Bonus Vault pays 20% of your monthly live withdrawals.

Legacy accounts and a conflicting page

PAs bought before March 1, 2026 keep the old terms: 100% of the first $25,000 per account, then 90%, and at least 8 trading days with 5 days of $50 or more between requests. Apex's Payout Method Information article still gives that 8-day rule, which conflicts with the 5-qualifying-day rule on the current EOD and Intraday payout pages.

Recent payout changes

All took effect on March 1, 2026, for newly bought PAs:

  • Split: 100% of approved payouts. It was 100% of the first $25,000 per account, then 90%.
  • Eligibility: five qualifying days with a minimum daily profit of $100 to $350. It was at least 8 trading days with 5 days of $50 or more.
  • Caps: at most 6 payouts per PA, each with its own cap, then the PA closes. Before, the first five payouts were capped (for example $2,000 on 50K) and there was no maximum from the sixth.
  • Consistency: the 30% windfall rule became the 50% rule.

Every dated change is in the rule change log, and the drawdown and DLL rules are on the Apex Trader Funding rules page. Apex publishes a 1099 tax forms article; for the basics, see how to file prop firm taxes, which is general information, not tax advice.

Know the riskApex payouts come from Apex's own funds under its terms, and Apex can change or pause them. An evaluation is a paid service with simulated trading, and most people who buy one do not pass it. Not investment advice.
