This evaluation cost calculator adds up what you pay a futures prop firm to take its test. An evaluation is a paid test on a simulated account: you trade under the firm's rules and try to reach a profit target. Pick a firm and a plan, enter how many attempts and months to budget for, and the calculator lists every fee. It uses list prices from 12 firms' official pages.

How we calculate

For a plan you pay for once:

total = price + (attempts − 1) × reset or repurchase price + activation fee

For a monthly plan:

total = monthly price × months + (attempts − 1) × reset price + activation fee + data fee × months

cost per attempt = total ÷ attempts

  • An attempt is one evaluation you start: the first one, plus each reset or new purchase. A reset restarts a failed evaluation for a fee, where the firm offers one.
  • If a one-time plan has no confirmed reset price, or no resets at all, each extra attempt is priced as a new purchase.
  • If a monthly plan has no confirmed reset price, extra attempts are marked "Not confirmed". The total then shows the known part only, and cost per attempt is not calculated.
  • Some firms restart a failed monthly evaluation at the next renewal at no extra charge. The calculator counts the months you pay for, not those restarts.
  • The activation fee is counted once, when you choose to include it.
  • Prices are list prices from each firm's own pages, checked on September 26, 2026. A plan without a confirmed price is left out.

Not included:

  • Sales tax, VAT and other taxes.
  • Market data fees, except Topstep's optional Level 2 data, which Topstep prices at $38 a month. Some firms charge more for traders with professional status.
  • Promotions, discount codes and bundle prices.
  • Costs after you are funded, such as payout fees or reactivating a closed account.

Prices the calculator uses

Each row is one plan. Prices are what the firm lists before any promotion. A reset price shown as the monthly price means the firm charges the same amount to restart a failed evaluation.

Questions

How much does a prop firm evaluation cost?

It depends on the firm, the plan and the account size. Among the plans in this calculator, confirmed list prices run from $49 a month to $1,123 for a one-time plan. Resets, extra months and activation fees come on top, and the calculator adds them up.

What is an activation fee?

A one-time fee some firms charge after you pass, before your funded account starts. On the plans here it runs from $69 to $169 where charged, and many plans have none. More in our prop firm activation fee guide.

Does the calculator include resets?

Yes, where the firm publishes a reset price. If it does not, extra attempts on a one-time plan are priced as new purchases, and on a monthly plan they are marked Not confirmed.

Is the total what I could earn back?

No. The total is what you pay the firm. It does not predict whether you pass or get paid. Most people who buy an evaluation do not pass.

What does the calculator leave out?

Taxes, promotions and discount codes, and market data fees other than Topstep's optional Level 2 data. Costs after you are funded, such as payout fees, are left out too.
