Prop firm rule changes in Q3 2026 pointed one way on billing and the other on payouts. Futures firms moved evaluations to one-time fees, launched instant-funding and daily-payout plans and cut minimum trading days, while Tradeify lowered its Select Flex payout caps. From July 1 to September 30, 2026 our change log recorded 14 changes at 6 of the 12 firms we track, and two smaller futures firms said they were closing.
Q3 2026 at a glance
- Billing went one-time. MyFundedFutures ended monthly evaluation subscriptions on August 25, and Bulenox dropped monthly billing when it launched Momentum and Fast Track on August 17. Apex Trader Funding and Tradeify had already made the move.
- Faster passes. Earn2Trade dropped its 10-day minimum for evaluations bought from July 6, and Take Profit Trader cut new Tests from five days to three on August 17.
- More ways to get paid. Lucid launched LucidDaily and Alpha Futures launched Direct, an instant-funded account. FundedNext Futures replaced Rapid with Rapid Pro and Rapid Daily.
- Caps moved both ways. Tradeify cut Select Flex payout caps and raised two Select Daily caps for accounts bought after September 1.
- Date of purchase matters. Almost every change applies to accounts bought after its effective date. Older accounts keep the old rules.

New plans and products
Launches add options rather than change existing rules, so they sit outside the change log. Each links to our report with the firm's own sources.
- Topstep opened Topstep Labs on July 2 with a $25,000 Trading Combine with a fixed max loss limit for a one-time $75, then added a $49 challenge that pays a flat $3,000 in August. It also replaced its Live Performance Bonus with the Octagon competition from July 1.
- Alpha Futures launched Direct, an instant-funded account with a one-time fee, on July 7.
- Lucid Trading launched LucidDaily with daily payout requests, and made the LucidFlex daily loss limit a checkout option.
- MyFundedFutures added Rapid EOD on August 6 and Builder 100K and 150K in September.
- Bulenox put Fast Track and Momentum on sale on August 17 and capped master accounts at five.
- Tradeify opened Forge limited drops with the Select 300K, and dropped its under-10-second trade rule from evaluations, keeping it for payouts.
- New entrants: FTMO opened a futures program on September 17, and The5ers Futures added 22 CME single stock futures.
Closures and wind-downs
- Alpha Futures Premium plan. Alpha Futures lost NinjaTrader and Tradovate access on July 12 and closed its Premium plan, refunding active accounts. It said approved Premium payouts would be paid in batches, starting with 10% on July 15. Its other plans stayed open.
- Rev One Trading. Its founder said in August that the futures prop firm had shut down.
- FundedSeat. The firm announced its closure on September 28 and says active accounts will be refunded.
- Funded Futures Network told traders it is acquiring PropEd Capital and that payouts are late.
- TradersYard stopped selling FX/CFD challenges after September 30 to focus on futures.
Lost or limited platform access sits behind three of these. Spotware also confirmed in July that cTrader will not onboard new US traders at prop firms.
Courts and regulators
We found no CFTC or NFA enforcement action against a futures prop firm in the quarter. The legal news came from private suits:
- Lawton v. Apex (W.D. Tex.): a trader who spent $404,941 on Apex accounts alleges an unregistered commodity pool.
- Apex v. Tan (D.N.J.): Apex sued a customer on July 29 over card chargebacks.
- McCrudden v. Apex (M.D. Fla.): Apex refiled its motion to dismiss or compel arbitration on July 16.
- McCrudden v. Topstep (M.D. Fla.): discovery was stayed until the arbitration motion is decided.
- Alpha Futures v. NinjaTrader (N.D. Ill.): the judge denied a preliminary injunction and sent the case to settlement talks.
At the exchange level, the CFTC stayed CME's 24/7 10-barrel crude oil contract in July and extended its review to October 26. CME withdrew the filing on October 2, so Globex hours for energy stay as on CL futures trading hours.
What this means for your account
- Check the date you bought. Most Q3 changes apply only to accounts bought or reset after the effective date.
- Read payout caps, not just the split. A 90/10 split with a lower cap can pay less per request than before.
- One-time fees change the cost of a failed attempt: you buy again instead of paying another month. The evaluation cost calculator works through both models.
- Firm pages change without notice. Each firm's current rules are on its page under futures prop firms, and new changes go to the rule change log as they happen.
Know the riskProp firm evaluations are paid services traded in simulation. Most people who buy one do not pass, payouts come from each firm's own funds under its terms, and firms change rules, pause payouts and close. Not investment advice.
